Angelica: For Love and Country in a Time of Revolution
Non-Fiction at the Bryant Park Reading Room

Event Details:
Our popular outdoor lecture series is back! The New York Historical is thrilled to once again partner with the Bryant Park Reading Room to present a series of free programs in the park.
The eldest daughter of a prominent family, the wife of a privateer-turned-merchant banker, and the sister-in-law of a Founding Father, Angelica Schuyler Church was a veritable Forrest Gump of the Revolutionary period: always on hand for pivotal moments, from Yorktown just after the eponymous battle to Paris and London as the burgeoning United States found its feet on the international stage. Biographer Molly Beer delves into the fascinating figure who befriended everyone from Thomas Jefferson to the Marquis de Lafayette and played a complex role in politics across two continents.
Molly Beer is a lecturer at the University of Michigan and the author of Angelica: For Love and Country in a Time of Revolution.
This program is produced in partnership with the Bryant Park Corporation.
