A Nation in Conversation: Heather Cox Richardson and Khalil Gibran Muhammad

Event Details:
Albert Einstein said, “If you want to know the future, look at the past.” When many Americans want to better understand our democracy and current political situation in the context of our national history, they turn to Heather Cox Richardson. Through her narrated newsletter Letters from an American, she has become a leading voice in political commentary through the lens of history. Richardson sits down with scholar Khalil Gibran Muhammad for a timely conversation on race, democracy, and historical perspectives.
Heather Cox Richardson is a professor of history at Boston College and the author of numerous books on American politics, most recently, Democracy Awakening: Notes on the State of America. Khalil Gibran Muhammad (moderator), a scholar trustee of The New York Historical, is the inaugural Professor of African American Studies and Public Affairs at Princeton University, where he directs the Institutional Antiracism and Accountability Project. He is also a contributing writer to the 1619 Project.
