Sunday Story Time: Before She Was Harriet
Event Details:
Celebrate Black History Month at Sunday Story Time! You may have heard of Harriet Tubman, one of the most famous abolitionists and activists of the 19th century. Today we are learning all about Harriet’s life in Before She Was Harriet, a beautiful poem by Lesa Cline-Ransome with illustrations by James E. Ransom. As Moses, Harriet led enslaved people to freedom on the Underground Railroad. As General Tubman, she spied for the Union Army during the Civil War. And as Araminta, Harriet was a child looking up at the stars with her father. After the story, create your own artwork to share all the different facets of yourself and the many ways you help others.
Join us every Sunday in person at the Museum for story time and crafts! Each class includes a special hello song, silly dances and games, a story book reading, and a craft to do after the story.

Lower level at The New York Historical, 170 Central Park West, New York, NY 10024
