Sunday Story Time: Cloaked in Courage: Uncovering Deborah Sampson, Patriot Soldier
Event Details:
This month we are celebrating The Historical’s new Revolutionary Women exhibition with stories of women who left their mark on the American Revolution. In Cloaked in Courage, written by Beth Anderson and illustrated by Anne Lambelet, we’ll meet Deborah Sampson. When she was only 18-years-old, Deborah disguised herself as a man and enlisted in the army as Robert Shurtliff to join the fight for independence! After the story, make your own tricorn hat, like the one Deborah might have worn in the Continental Army!
Join us every Sunday in person at the Museum for story time and crafts! Each class includes a special hello song, silly dances and games, a story book reading, and a craft to do after the story.
Location:
Lower level at The New York Historical, 170 Central Park West, New York, NY 10024
