Sunday Story Time: Kindred Spirits: Shilombish Ittibachvffa
Event Details:
Our books this month are inspired by The Historical’s new House Made of Dawn exhibition, featuring 150 years of art by Indigenous people! Today we’ll read Kindred Spirits: Shilombish Ittibachvffa, written by Leslie Stall Widener and illustrated by Johnson Yazzie. This book tells the true story of 175 years of friendship between Ireland, the Choctaw Nation, the Navajo Nation, and the Hopi Tribe. After the read aloud, we’ll make art inspired by this pay-it-forward tale of kindness.
Join us every Sunday in person at the Museum for story time and crafts! Each class includes a special hello song, silly dances and games, a story book reading, and a craft to do after the story.
Location:
Lower level at The New York Historical, 170 Central Park West, New York, NY 10024
