Sunday Story Time: This Land: The History of the Land We’re On
Event Details:
Our books this month are inspired by The Historical’s new House of Made Dawn exhibition, featuring 150 years of art by Indigenous people! In This Land, written by Ashley Fairbanks and illustrated by Bridget George, we’ll meet a young girl eager to learn about the history of the land where she lives. A friend’s grandma Noko encourages the girl to remember Indigenous people wherever she goes! After the story we’ll make postcards from our favorite places, featuring Indigenous names, inspired by Bridget George’s illustrations!
Join us every Sunday in person at the Museum for story time and crafts! Each class includes a special hello song, silly dances and games, a story book reading, and a craft to do after the story.
Location:
Lower level at The New York Historical, 170 Central Park West, New York, NY 10024
